So all the local news casters and websites and everthing are on HIGH ALERT. Interviewing the salt truck guy and whatnot. Because of this:
Oooooh 3 inches! Scary!
And we might get another 4 or 5! Whatever will we do?
Dude it’s Cleveland. Snow in Feb. should not be this big of a deal. Although I guess I understand it being a logistical nightmare with the debates in town… still. I don’t think this amount of WINTER WEATHER WARNING graphics is ever necessary.
Anyways! I went on a fantastic ski vacation this past weekend and I’m still sore and whiny from it. So sore in fact that last night I was too sore to knit. Not even kidding. I have no idea why my hands would be sore from skiing but they are. I’m also too sore to put together the blog from the weekend (uh huh) so instead I’ll distract from the lack of content with some shiny objects.
Shiny #1 – A beautiful Row Counter Bracelet and set of Stitch Markers from the Crimson Orchid:
I won this set in a contest over on Shut Up I'm Counting. This blog is a new discovery for me and I’m glad I found it because she cracks me up.
Thanks, Cass!!!
Shiny #2 – Malabrigo Silky Merino:
It’s like the original Mmmmalabrigo only shinier. And silkier. And possibly even more awesome.
I won this skein back in November during Mmmalabro cast on week on Ravelry. It was a prize in the “Most Creative Photo” contest – I was an honorable mention for receiving multiple votes but for different photographs. Here are the 3 that I entered in case you’re curious (I think I’ve blogged all 3 of these before but whatever. Shiny!):
Tasty Treats
Malabrigo and Roses
Blocking
After receiving the skein I immediately put it away so as not to be distracted from my Christmas knitting. But now in honor of Project Spectrum Fire and Malabrigo March I’d like to make something with it.
So the skein is only 150 yards of goodness. I was thinking about some sortof lacy scarf thing but is 150 yards even close to enough? Any ideas on what to make with it? I’d love some suggestions b/c I’m really stuck.
And according to the local news I won’t be going anywhere for awhile.
It's a slow news day when they make this much of snow. That and I thnk because downtown and the west side are getting snow - that's so scary. Whenever we get a bunch of snow on the east side, they don't make a big deal, we're in the Snow Belt, after all. But when they have to deal with more than 3 inches - it's the end of the world.
ReplyDeleteHow about a hat? http://www.knitty.com/issuefall07/PATTfoliage.html
ReplyDeleteThat would have to be a verrry skinny scarf.
Hahaha I was just saying the same thing last night...its Cleveland, its winter...we're gonna get snow - relax! I don't remember "Winter Weather Advisory/Alert/Warnings" being such a big friggin' deal when I was little! 3 inches? Seriously? Big friggin' deal! The snow was way worse last year. I think its been a mild winter :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the yarn pr0n. Which reminds me...I was shutting IE when my brother came in the room last night and saw the screen...he starting laughing and said "Usually when people are caught online and shut the window quickly, they're looking at pr0n. When you do it, I know I've caught you shopping for yarn". You know it! That Malabrigo's been calling my name!
He he he I keep laughing about how bad they are making this out to be! I have channel 5 on now and they are talking about snow only! LOL! I'm not complaining I got the day off!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the yarn p0rn! Pretty Maligbigo!!! Yum!
OK I can't get blogger to let me log in, I guess I'll try my typepad one!
when will it end? Your tree picture is prettier than mine, except I have cute squirrels up to their hips in snow. lol. Pretty fibers! Love the counter. Stay Warm!
ReplyDeleteOoh you just reminded me how much I like Crimson Orchid and need to get one of her braclets!
ReplyDeleteGreat set! And Cass is a HOOT! :oD
And...OH MY GOSH at that lucious Mmmmmmmalabrigo!!! Can't wait to see what it forms into!
STAY WARM!!
Wow, gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of the weather people! Everything is a "storm watch." We had a couple hours of rain and that was a storm watch. Give. Me. A. Break.
Make the 'A Better Bucket' hat on Ravelry!
ReplyDeleteThe very last picture of the Malabrigo makes me want to eat it. Mmm, tasty yarnsnack!
ReplyDeleteWe had some more snow last night, and I guess we're supposed to get another 1-3" tomorrow night. The month is trying to annihilate my soul!
purdy row counters :)
ReplyDeleteglad u had a nice time on the ski trip...sounds like jill got pretty banged up! can't wait for the next knit knite!
Oh WOW I love the colors of your row counter!! SWEET!
ReplyDeleteAnd nice yarn pron. :)
Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the web the easiest thing
ReplyDeleteto be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while
people consider worries that they just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
