I blame pintrest for the following nonsense.

So.  My entire family is battling some sortof strep throat like thing, we're still car shopping, my color affection is still not over, and I have no idea what to do for the Ravellennic Games.  Things are generally a mess around here.  So how about a post about my nails.

Wait, what?

Yeah.  I blame pintrest for this nonsense that has been happening around here:

Nonsense
Serious nonsense:

Such nonsense
I don't even know what I was trying to do there.  This one, however, is competely the fault of my 3yo:

We match! #nails #nailpolish #kid

Although the sparkly accent I blame on pintrest.

My daughter picked out the sparkly color and told me that she needed to paint her nails sparkly before we went to the pool because sparkly nails would help her swim like a mermaid.  Obviously.  What can I say.  Kid knows how to put together a look:

But the thing is.... all of this nonsense is better then the alternative.  You see I chew my nails.  Really awfully.  And for my entire life my hands have looked like this:

OOOH it's BAD.
Recently something snapped.  I didn't want my hands to look like that anymore.  I wanted them to look like all of the crazy fun manicures that pop up in my pintrest stream.  That was two months ago.  Now my nails look like this:

That is the longest my nails have ever been.  Ever.  In my entire life.  So while it may not look like much it's a pretty big deal for me.  So yay for pintrest for finally motivating me to stop with the chewing!  I still have no idea how to make a sock bun work, though:

Pintrest made it look so easy!  Sigh...

I'm linking up with a Mani-Monday party.  Because why not.

I bite my nails, too. I stopped in my thirties, and sometimes they get really long now. Sometimes I still backslide...usually when there is great stress.
WAY TO GO with the motivation, the manis, and the mini-you! Painting your nails together will be lifelong fun! :)

haha my nails were pretty bad too, chronic nail biter. I decided when I hit 21 that I had to stop after seeing a pic of me with my fingers in my mouth. I stopped biting, but I still have them in my mouth all the time...i know gross, right? I find that if I keep them polished I'm less likely to put them back in there.

Just so you know..Wallgreens has Sinful Colors polish on sale for 99 cents this week! I may have bought 8 bottles yesterday. And my nails may also be 2 different colors (I stopped myself from doing 5 different colors- for now) So much fun! Pinterest is evil! LOL

My granddaughter gave me a wonderful manicure yesterday and I treated her to as many Sinful nail polishes she wanted...thanks Walgreens for making them 99 cents.
I am a nervous nail biter. Luckily, I have been able to let my nails grow, but I still find myself putting my nails in my mouth when I get anxious.
I love the pink and the glitter nail! Always a go-to for me!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! I'm returning the favor. Your daughter is ADORABLE. I have red hair (and was born with red hair) and we are of course trouble but she is seriously so cute. I love the pictures of the manicures you did together! I have never seen Sally Hanson's Strobe Light but I might have to go find it. It is beautiful!

these nails are some of my go-tos too! the 'party nail' (ring finger sparkly), using tape to do stripes or designs, i love them all! and that is so cute that sparkly nails will make her swim like a mermaid - i believe it!
I am digging your mani big time! I love the bright pink and sparkly glitter! I think I need to keep an eye out for that Sally Hansen Strobe Light colour, it's gorgeous! Haha I love and hate pinterest...so much inspiration...but sometimes it just doesn't work out in real life! However I did recently make a cinnamon quick bread from pinterest....such a win!!! So all hope is not lost :P Loving your blog, am your newest follower! :)

I used to be a very active nail biter myself. gnaw-gnaw-gnaw... But then I saw someone else chewing their nails and I thought, "man is that gross looking!" So I just decided to stop. I still can't keep my fingers out of my mouth, but at least I'm not ripping my nails off all the time. Though I do tend to keep them short (now I have a mild nail-filing obsession). It's kind of funny what sorts of things can motivate us to do stuff! But it does feel good to look down at your hands and see long nails! Good job.

I had that glitter sparkle accent on my toes for about a week. It made me feel like I was back in high school. I need to sit down and figure out what I am going to do for the Ravellenic Games too. not much longer to choose. I better get a move on it!!
Growing up I always picked at my nails and broke them off. Then in my 20's, I had very long nails and kept them polished. Until this past winter, I just let them go, but was over the breaking them off bit. Then I started going to Ulta here and there for their OPI gel polish manicures. They last for two weeks and I'm not gentle with my nails except that I wear gloves to do the dishes. Treat yourself to a gel polish sometime!
Seriously, your nails right now look the perfect length to me. I've never been one for those super long nails, I like the "sporty" look...you know, you can DO things without having to bend your fingers at strange angles. I haven't put polish on my nails since I got married, you are making me think about using my toe polishes elsewhere. :D

I still haven't done the accent nail, but I really want to! I'm impressed with all your fingernail tomfoolery =)
